Biography
Harriet N. Katz is Director of Lawyering Programs and director of the Law School's Externship Program, an extensive clinical opportunity for third-year students. She joined our clinical education faculty in 1993, after several years as a Clinical Supervisor in the on-campus legal clinic at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and several years in legal services and public interest practice. Prof. Katz earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and her J.D. at Yale Law School. Her recent publications are on the topic of effective teaching methods to support learning from legal externships. Prof. Katz teaches Interviewing, Counseling, and Negotiation, in addition to teaching seminars in connection with the Externship Program.
